Make up For Beginners [part 3]

Whats the next step for a flawless skin appearance? Blush.

Not everybody uses blush, or they use a bronzer in place of it [or vice versa]. But for those of you who want to avoid looking like a clown, read on.

Blush also comes in a wide array of formulas; powders, creams, stains, tints, gels and my personal fave, pot rouge. And depending on your desired look, any one of these can work. The hard part is choosing the right color, and applying it in the right way.

Tip: If you already have bronzer on do not use another shade similar in clor. This will end up making your face look dirty.

To find your perfect blush color note the color of your cheeks after you finish working out [or pinch them] Try to get a sclose to this color as possible for a more natural look natural look.

Application: Alot of people like to make the "fish face" when applying blush. I dont particularly like the way it turns out when that is done. I think a more accurate way is to just smile, and apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks blending upward towards your hairline.

-Want to know my fave type of blush and color?

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge For Lips And Cheeks: Blushed Rose [a brown pink] seriously, get it.

SInce my skin is alittle on the dryer side, this creamy formula is perfect! I dont think i could live with out this stuff. And since its pot rougue, you can put it on your cheeks and lips, so you never have to worry about clashing!

Simple enough? of course.

  1. So far i'm loving your posts. I've been wanting to do maekup for a while but am so self concious ]:

So I got a question that im confused. The basics for simple Make up is
    -Eyeliner
    -eye shadow
    -Mascara
    -Something for the lips
    -foundation
    -concealer
Is the foundation and concealer really necessary? Will it be able to give me that 'smooth' look?

  2. If you have great, even toned skin by all means skip out on the correctors, concealers, and foundations. I suggested wearing a light tinted moisturizer for a nice glow. If however you do need it, foundation can be made to look natural. But they key is, and will always be MODERATION. Some people tend to go overboard with their makeup, and end up altering their whole appearance. This is great when your participating in a fashion show or special event, but not for everyday. So if what you want is natural, then moderate what you put on your face. You'll end up looking great! Mabye i'll do a post on the "dewy" skin look. This is my fav type and you can use makeup to acheive this.[well hydrated face+ luminous makeup] it looks super natural, and gives you a nice balanced glow.
Aso one more point, as i said to avoid the "mask" look, blend foundation or whatever base your using into hair line, and then brozer or whatever finish onto the neck. Even if youve got all the right tool, and the best makeup, failure to blend will create a mask effect.
-hope this helps, if not just email me id love to explain further.
